Subway Restaurant,  2341 Yonge Street
Favourite haunt especially in Grade 13.  Now part of the R&C complex circa 1979. Funeral Home was site of R&C.  On the way north, point out Broadway Music Shop for CHUM Charts just south of Broadway Avenue.

Canada Trust – Yonge & Erskine
Currently TD Canada Trust.  The apartment building was demolished for controversial condo beside John Fisher Public School.

Bank of Montreal
Built in 1907 and demolished over the weekend in early February 2017.  Just days before heritage status. Steps still visible.

Broadway Billiards, 2426 Yonge Street
Above Parkwood car dealership.  Now it’s the entryway to parking beside Best Buy.  Changed to Chapters Bookstore then Future Shop and Fed Ex.

Corner Montgomery & Yonge
Post Office built 1937, closed 2013.  Facade of PO is one of few Edward VIII buildings in Canada and lot of public outcry when sold.  Apartment building opened 1 year ago. Police station closed in 1988.

NE Corner Orchard View & Yonge, 2346-2350 Yonge Street
Royal Bank building built in 1993.  Pharmacy replaced by restaurant in past 10 years. Library built in 1974, apartment building in 1980.

Dominion Store
Now Urban Outfitters in Yonge Eglinton Centre built in 1970.  Was formerly an HMV record store. Above, the apartment building built in 1997.

Woolworth's
Now Yonge Eglinton Centre.  Demolished in 1970. When Y/E Centre built this was an open air court used by the public.  This area was redeveloped 8 years ago with much public outcry. The small street – Starrett Avenue was sold by the city for the Y/E Centre.

Note all the changes as this has become one of the most developed areas in Toronto.  The building on the NE corner of Roehampton & Yonge was among the first high rise. Other high rises during our time were 2180 & 2200 Yonge Street just south of Eglinton on the west side.

Fran’s Restaurant
Now part of the new condo complex.  The TD Canada Trust branch will be returning.  Buildings were demolished 5 years ago for the condo.

SE Corner Roehampton & Yonge
Formerly a dress shop, now the Duke of Kent (1977).  Note the Bell Building in background which still exists.  Apartment building demolished for condo currently being built.
